About Me
I'm a literary agent specializing in adult nonfiction that tells great stories—from serious history and memoir to pop science and parenting—along with select speculative fiction. My clients include NYT bestsellers, PEN/Faulkner award winners, and leading experts of all kinds.
I'm drawn to projects that live at unexpected intersections of audiences, topics, and styles, and to books that push me to ask bigger and better questions about the world. I especially love working with academics and researchers whose knack for communicating with the public has already gained them an eager mainstream following.
Before joining Ross Yoon, I studied English at Smith College (BA), and University College London (MA), and spent two years in South Korea on a Fulbright fellowship. I also ran an editorial consulting firm, where I worked on projects from memoirs and mysteries to women's fiction, thrillers, and translations.
In my time off, I have a soft spot for Victorian novels, science fiction & fantasy, adaptations of Shakespeare, obsessively researched narrative nonfiction, New Haven pizza, and terrible puns. I live in Washington, DC, with my husband and two rascally children, and on Twitter at @darakaye.
